Nothing like heading to the pool over the 4th of July Holiday! However…. Pools all across the country are closing due to lifeguard shortages.
Who stepped up to the rescue? Grandma!
An Ohio grandmother, Gail Rodgers, who is 66 and also the president of her condominium board, stepped up so the condominium pool can stay open!
As president you promise to do more than go to meetings… you Promise to keep the place livable and safe for all the residents.
More than 50 years ago she was a lifeguard (that’s when she was in high school) working over the summer.
She says nothing really exciting has happened in her time at the pool so far. She said “I did have to blow my whistle a couple of times at kids that were diving when they shouldn’t be diving. But they all responded great!
