Archer Aviation is launching a new air taxi service designed to revolutionize travel across gridlocked Los Angeles.
The company claims its electric air taxis can transform a grueling 90-minute car commute into a quick five-minute flight.
To make this network a reality, Archer has officially acquired Hawthorne Airport to serve as its central hub for operations.
This strategic location places the “vertiport” just minutes away from LAX, SoFi Stadium, and other major entertainment venues.
The flights will use the “Midnight” aircraft, an electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicle that is designed to be quiet and sustainable.
The service aims to be affordable for the masses, with ticket prices eventually targeting the cost of a standard rideshare trip.
Archer is racing to have this high-speed network fully operational in time for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
